M2L Associates is proud to announce its certification by the City of Houston as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). With this endorsement, M2L demonstrates its continuing commitment to diversity and the benefits it brings to the table for clients by expanding its women-owned business (WOB) certifications to include the fourth largest U.S. city and home of M2L’s corporate headquarters. This certification means our clients get the same high quality of work M2L has always provided, while now being recognized by the City of Houston as a WBE.
In addition to this designation from the City of Houston, M2L Associates has earned WBE designations as a Texas Statewide Historically Underutilized Business and through the North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency and the South Central Texas Regional Certification Agency.
As more companies strive to connect social aspects of sustainability into every aspect of their operations, clients are rethinking their supplier networks to demonstrate diversity and expand their options for professional services. More companies than ever are adding women- and minority-owned small businesses to their approved vendor lists to achieve social and diversity aspects of their corporate sustainability goals and demonstrate their commitment to investors, customers and the community.
“We are excited and proud to add this formal certification from the City of Houston,” said M2L Associates President Karen Rogers. “We believe this reflects Houston’s efforts to expand opportunities for women business owners, connecting us with additional top-tier companies, municipal agencies and local governments looking to partner with diverse, expert vendors. Our talented, creative and diverse team is our greatest asset, and this certification provides new opportunities to demonstrate our values and skills to companies seeking custom-designed and executed green spaces, master plans and urban planning projects.”
M2L’s Chief Financial Officer and Principal Lynn Mauer agreed, pointing to M2L’s unique expertise in parks and recreation design and tree preservation as areas of specialization that engineering firms and purchasing agents are seeking. “With the heightened emphasis on sustainable project designs and tree preservation and the shortage of qualified firms with this skill set, we look forward to helping our clients create beautiful spaces while simultaneously satisfying the City’s contract diversity goals – a win all around.”
