M2L Continues Support of the Miracle League and Adaptive Sports in Houston

M2L Associates is proud to sponsor Party with a Purpose Under the City Lights, 7–10:30 p.m. Saturday at The Westin Houston, Memorial City, benefiting the Langham Creek Family YMCA Miracle League and adaptive sports programs for developmentally challenged kids and their families.

Party with a Purpose is the organization’s annual gala and premier fundraiser, honoring program athletes and coaches and bringing together supporters and the community to raise the profile, extend the reach, and help this incredible organization provide services for years to come.

After many years in the Cypress area, the event moves into town, offering a spectacular view of the city lights while accommodating more partners and supporters as well as a more convenient location for program families, who hail from Cypress and Tomball to Sugar Land and far west counties.

In addition to a brief program honoring athletes and volunteers, the evening includes a vast array of food and drink selections — and exciting silent and live auction items. From Astros tickets and sports memorabilia to retail gifts and experiences to a Royal Caribbean Mexican cruise and everything in between, the long list of prizes will appeal to bidders of all tastes and budgets.

Beyond M2L’s financial support at the gala, our principals and employees have volunteered on Miracle League game days, meeting athletes and their families and witnessing firsthand the organization’s impact.

“Getting to know these kids face to face and hearing the families’ inspiring stories just strengthens our commitment to the Miracle League and these athletes,” said M2L Principal and CFO Lynn Mauer. “It’s been an absolute joy to help adaptive sports grow in our area and make a difference for these athletes and families. We hope more companies like M2L will get involved with this wonderful cause.”

Rodney Finke, a founding organizer of the Miracle League and CFO of Harvey Builders, underscored  the importance of corporate supporters large and small. “The phenomenal growth and reach of our organization especially in recent years are testaments to every single person and company touched by our mission of helping more kids play baseball and sports,” he said. “On behalf of our kids, families, coaches, volunteers and partners like the YMCA, we sincerely thank M2L for its continuing support and for helping us introduce our cause and our kids to more people across Houston.”

Finke said he is especially thrilled with the increase in corporate benefactors that will allow more athletes to play baseball on the specially designed fields, in addition to expanded programs like basketball and swimming.

Major sponsors for 2024 include Denso North America (Diamond level), Harvey Builders (Platinum), Marek Brothers (Platinum), McGriff Insurance (Platinum), Phillips 66 (Gold), Corient (Silver) and Next Level Thinking (Silver).

The Miracle League removes barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and let them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. Miracle League teams play on custom-designed, rubberized turf fields that accommodate wheelchairs and other assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries. Houston’s first Miracle League began in 2012 on a small t-ball field at the Langham Creek Family YMCA, expanding over the years to an impressive, multi-million-dollar adaptive sports complex that today is a model for establishing new Miracle Leagues across the country.
