M2L Teams with Langham Creek YMCA to Support Adaptive Programs

Join M2L Associates and the Langham Creek Family YMCA February 25 for Date by the Lake, the annual fundraising gala to benefit the Langham Creek Family YMCA adaptive programs. Boots & Bling: Deep in the Hearts of Texans is this year’s theme, with the gala moving to a new and larger events venue — Bridal Oaks, at 18224 KZ Road, Cypress, Texas 77433.

Langham Creek Family YMCA’s Miracle League and adaptive sports programs supports disabled children with physical disabilities and special needs by providing custom-designed fields and courts, equipment, and a “buddy” who mentors and helps every step of the way. The annual gala brings together supporters, participating families and the community to celebrate these athletes and to fund activities for another year.

Ticket holders are treated to an array of wine, craft brew and cocktail tastings, a large spread of food and dessert stations from some of the area’s best chefs, and the chance to win a long list of exciting and valuable auction items — all in support of the cause. This year’s program celebrates girl power in a big way, shining a spotlight on eight local girls who have participated in the program over seven seasons of Miracle League baseball at Langham Creek.

Rodney Finke, one of the founding organizers who helped make this program a reality, said he’s proud the annual gala is growing to better support the kids and expand the adaptive sports programs. “This year’s gala is bigger and better than ever!” he said. “The new venue at Bridal Oaks is a beautiful and much larger space to accommodate all of our guests and tasting stations in one area, not to mention more space to mingle and showcase our long list of auction items. We know a bigger event will translate into more kids and families participating in our programs.”

M2L Associates has supported the Miracle League and the YMCA’s adaptive sports programs since 2019 and continues this year as a table sponsor. “We’re so happy to continue our partnership and support of this wonderful cause right here in northwest Houston,” said M2L Principal Lynn Mauer. “We hope as more companies and partners learn about the Miracle League and adaptive sports programs, they will join us in helping these inspiring kids and families.”

Major sponsors of the gala include Harvey Builders, Amegy Bank, Elaine’s Florist & Gift Baskets, Heffernan Bar-B-Que, Lone Pint Brewery and The Wine Group.

Finke pointed out each contribution is valuable, from individual ticket holders and donations or time volunteering as a “buddy” or helper on game days to corporate sponsorships large and small. “We’re grateful to M2L Associates and all of our company sponsors for helping us to make Date by the Lake better every year. Every contribution is important to the families who benefit in life-changing ways from our programs.”
